Health officials are raising the alarm ahead of World Prematurity Day 2025, observed globally on November 17th — a day that this year gains new significance as it joins the World Health Organization’s international health calendar. With 143 out of every 1,000 births in Saint Lucia recorded as premature, local medical professionals are calling for greater awareness, empathy, and investment in pediatric care to better support affected families.
