TCL Expands Mentorship Opportunities For Young Women in STEM
4 hours ago
Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) continues to support young women pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The company has announced that through its ‘NextGen Innovators Mentorship Initiative’ (NIMI), it will be providing opportunities for female students to gain hands-on experience, knowledge, and mentorship to pursue successful careers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
The programme, now in its second year, is said to have strengthened partnerships with Naparima Girls’ High School and welcomed St. Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando, into the cohort.
Sixth Form students from these schools engaged directly with TCL’s professionals across a range of disciplines – engineering, chemistry, law, sustainability, finance, marketing, human resources, communications, logistics, supply chain, and procurement.
Participants in the programme highlighted the mentorship and practical experience gained as instrumental in shaping their career ambitions and confidence as future STEM professionals.
