Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC is adding the voice of the government to commemorative greetings for World Children’s Day.
A statement from the Prime Minister states that she and her government reaffirm their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being, safety, and development of every child, ensuring their rights are upheld and protected.
Trinidad and Tobago joins the global community in the 2025 observance under the theme « My Day, My Rights » today, November 20th, 2025.
The Prime Minister’s statement adds that it is a timely and meaningful reminder that every child carries inherent dignity, deserves complete protection, and has the right to express their voice and shape their future.
She says her government is committed to creating spaces where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar is also calling on the nation to truly hear the voices of its young people, since their honesty, creativity, and courage reveal the Trinidad and Tobago we can become when children stand at the heart of national development.
