BACK IN THE HOTSEATPIERRE SWORN IN FOR SECOND TERM AFTER LANDSLIDE VICTORY
In a ceremony steeped in solemn tradition and charged with political triumph, Philip J. Pierre was sworn in for a second term as Prime Minister of Saint Lucia on Friday, less than a week after his Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) secured a dominant, landslide victory in the December 1st general elections.
The oath of office was administered at a packed Government House.
The ceremony’s significance was underscored by the presence of regional stalwarts including Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, the former Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who attended as a special guest.
