A three-year-old child was among three people that were killed in Helenvale in the Eastern Cape earlier this month. Two others were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. On the 16th of April, three unidentified suspects allegedly broke into the house and shot the occupants. The University of the Western Cape says it's investigating a glitch that’s delayed payment of students on its work-study programme. More than 1,200 tutors, assistant lecturers and student assistants have not received their salaries since March. Some claim they haven’t been paid at all this academic year.
