Australia Women Seal Series Win With Dominant Victory Over West Indies

Australia Women have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in their ODI series against the West Indies after a dominant 90-run victory in St Kitts.
Veteran Beth Mooney top-scored with 65 as Australia posted 269/75 after winning the toss in the second CG United ODI versus the West Indies Women at Warner Park, with stand-in skipper Tahlia McGrath stepping up in place of the injured Sophie Molineux.
The West Indies looked threatening early, reducing the visitors to 82/4, but Mooney and McGrath steadied the ship before a crucial 39 from Georgia Wareham proved invaluable down the order.
In reply, the hosts appeared well-placed at 92/1 before an extraordinary collapse of 34/7 sealed their fate.
Wareham claimed 3/29 and Ash Gardner 3/34 as the West Indies were bowled out for 179 in 46 overs.
McGrath took the final wicket to finish the match.
Meanwhile, the West Indies have been fined 10% of their match fee for a slow over-rate in the first ODI, found to be two overs short even after time allowances.
Captain Hayley Matthews accepted the sanction, avoiding a formal hearing.
Australia goes for a clean sweep in the third and final ODI on Thursday, April 2nd, at the same venue.
