BNU President: It’s More Than Just Overtime Pay
The Bahamas Nursing Union (BNU) held a press conference Friday morning at Obie Ferguson & Co. law firm, in response to this week’s staged nurse sick-out.
BNU President, Muriel Lightbourn, says the staged sick-out was not only to address unpaid overtime, but also unpaid allowances, holiday hours, and unprocessed promotions. Lightborn added that some nurses who’ve received promotions last year were not compensated for their new roles.
