Boxing Star Injured in Fatal Crash
British boxer Anthony Joshua has sustained minor injuries following a fatal car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State on December 29.
According to Nigerian authorities, Joshua was a passenger in the back of a Lexus SUV that was reportedly speeding. The vehicle lost control while attempting to overtake another car and rammed into a stationary truck parked on the side of the road. While Joshua suffered minor injuries and was seen in visible pain being assisted from the wreckage, two other occupants were killed in the collision.
The Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria has cited « excessive speed » and « wrongful overtaking » as the primary causes of the crash, describing them as serious traffic violations common on Nigerian highways. Joshua, who has family ties to the region, was reportedly traveling toward Ibadan where his grandparents reside. No official statement has yet been released by Joshua or his management team regarding the incident.
