CALYPSO HISTORY MONTH LAUNCHED
Every October, Trinidad and Tobago proudly celebrates Calypso History Month, a time dedicated to honoring one of the nation’s most powerful cultural and artistic expressions. Launched in 2002 by the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO), Calypso History Month was created to preserve, promote, and celebrate the legacy of calypso, a genre deeply rooted in storytelling, social commentary, and the lived experiences of the Caribbean people.
