Eleven Illegal Immigrants Charged Following Coast Guard Interception Off Erin

Eleven Illegal Immigrants have been charged for illegal entry and Aiding and Abetting following interception by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard off Erin on Friday.
A release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reported that the eight males and three females aged 19 to 44, are of alleged Venezuelan nationality.
Nine are being charged with Illegal Entry and two are being charged with Illegal Entry and Aiding and Abetting.
All eleven were detained during a maritime operation and were handed over to the police. They are expected to appear before the court to answer to the charges.
The TTPS is advising the public that « assisting or facilitating illegal entry into Trinidad and Tobago is a serious offence » punishable by law.
