EVACUATION UPDATE
The national agencies are working to evacuate 1,453 residents who have heeded the evacuation orders. DRM Managing Director Aarone Sargent says this is the largest pre-event evacuation exercise in Bahamian history. They have faced logistical issues such as locating smaller aircrafts to land on shorter runways on Acklins and other islands, but Sargent assures they are working diligently to get all evacuees to safety.
