DUE CONSIDERATION [24TH APRIL 2026] – The government is expanding its social safety net under the 2026/2027 budget, placing new mothers, low-income families, and underserved communities at the centre of its development agenda. Framed within a people-centred approach, the initiative aims to strengthen social protection systems and ensure targeted support reaches those most in need. Minister Emma Hippolyte highlighted existing programmes and outreach efforts, particularly in maternal support, assuring that resources and care are available at both community and national levels.
