Grenada Reviewing US Request For Temporary Radar Installation

Grenada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development has confirmed that a request for the temporary installation of radar equipment and associated technical personnel at the Maurice Bishop International Airport has been received from the Government of the United States of America.

In a media statement on Thursday, the Ministry indicated that the Grenada Ministries of National Security, Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs are carefully assessing and reviewing the request.

The assessment was reported to have taken place via technical consultations and in coordination with the Grenada Airports Authority and other agencies.

The statement noted that « any decisions will be made only after all technical and legal assessments are completed. »
