Assistant Commissioner of Police and Gold Commander, Garvin Henry, is alerting patrons attending Trinidad and Tobago’s CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier against Curaçao that there will be strict no-parking restrictions.
The match is scheduled for an 8pm kick-off at the Hasely Crawford Stadium today.
« Police officers and traffic wardens will be positioned along the roadway at key intersections from the Sea Lots Traffic Lights, Beetham Highway, continuing along Wrightson Road and along the Audrey Jeffers Highway up to the traffic lights at the Cocorite Fish Depot. No parking will be permitted along Wrightson Road, Maraval Parkway, nor the Audrey Jeffers Highway. To enforce the no-parking restrictions, police officers and traffic wardens will be out in force, as stated earlier. »
ACP Henry also advised patrons that there will be a robust and aggressive wrecking operation taking place in the vicinity of the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
He said wrecked vehicles will be taken to the Queen’s Park Oval and not Queen’s Royal College as previously announced.
« To ensure an incident-free event, there will also be heightened police presence at the venue and its environs, such as Woodbrook and St. James. Parking will be available at Mucurapo East and West Secondary Schools, Sound Forge, Police Training Academy and the Mandela Park. I want to reiterate that there will be a zero-tolerance approach to any indiscriminate parking which tends to cause unnecessary inconvenience to the general public and the residents. »
