Over one hundred and forty small contractors from across South Trinidad turned out for the launch of Heritage Petroleum’s Community Contractor Development Programme at the Point Fortin Borough Town Hall.
The six-year initiative aims to provide community-based contractors with enhanced opportunities and the necessary tools to compete for national contracts.
Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Point Fortin MP Ernesto Kesar said the programme represents a practical and inclusive approach to creating jobs, strengthening local business capacity, and sustaining livelihoods.
Heritage’s Acting CEO Kerry Rampersad reaffirmed the company’s commitment to inclusive growth, noting that the programme reflects Heritage’s investment in people, helping small contractors grow stronger, work safer, and become more competitive.
The CCDP will be rolled out across several fenceline communities including Point Fortin, Penal, La Brea, Moruga, Siparia, Fyzabad, and Barrackpore.
