Italian Firm Tecnimont Linked To Refinery Rehabilitation Plan
Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Dr. Roodal Moonilal says Italian engineering and construction firm Tecnimont has partnered with Patriotic Energies for a ‘rehabilitation study’ of the Guaracara Refinery.
This, he said, is in pursuit of Patriotic’s proposal to the government for the restart of the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery.
In early March, Dr. Moonilal had stated that Tecnimont was expected to visit Trinidad and Tobago to discuss potential financing arrangements for the refinery project, noting that the government will be talking to all those interested in financing and getting on board the refinery restart.
Dr. Moonilal said Tecnimont is one of many global oil and gas corporations and investment entities interested in the refinery, confirming that they are involved with Patriotic Energies in their ongoing interest in the refinery operations.
