In a fiery address just days ahead of the election, Trevor James launched a scathing attack on his political opponents, demanding accountability for missing funds and condemning what he termed « Machiavellian » strategies. Speaking to a charged crowd on behalf of the Tobago People’s Party (TPP), James directed a pointed inquiry at a rival figure identified as Kwasi, asking, “We want to know where your money is”.

James alleged that for the past 21 years, the opposition has utilised « Machiavellian principles » to engineer a voter bank rather than develop Tobago. He characterised their governance structure as a « cabal » built on the « Four Fs »: Friends, Family, Favours, and Fear. According to James, this system was designed to benefit a « 1% » elite while marginalising the broader population. He further claimed that personal relationships between national leadership and local figures—referencing « Rowley and the big man »—cement this exclusive circle.

The speaker also levelled serious accusations regarding the coercion of vulnerable workers. He claimed that those in state employment programmes are being threatened with dismissal if they fail to support the opposition, describing these tactics as a weaponisation of fear against the less fortunate. James urged Tobagonians to reject these methods and vote for a shift in governance.
