LOUIS D'OR OPEN DAY
Louis D’Or Farm came alive yesterday as it hosted its World Food Day Open Day, bringing together farmers, students, and families to highlight the importance of sustainable agriculture and food security in Tobago.
The event featured a variety of activities, including tours, interactive booths, and live demonstrations that showcased local produce and innovative farming practices. Visitors explored displays on organic cultivation, composting, and agro-processing, while students participated in hands-on learning sessions designed to deepen their understanding of where food comes from and how it impacts the environment. Farm-to-table tastings allowed guests to sample freshly harvested produce, while small business owners exhibited cassava flour, pepper sauces, herbal teas, and other locally made products. The open day also created a space for networking among agricultural entrepreneurs, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
