Minister of Labour: “Negotiations Happen At The Table, Not In The Headlines”

Minister of Labour and Public Service, Pia Glover-Rolle, says the government remains committed to reaching an agreement with the Bahamas Union of Teachers following the union’s rejection of the latest salary proposal.
Glover-Rolle said rejected offers are a normal part of the negotiation process, adding that discussions should take place at the negotiating table rather than in the public domain.
She noted that the government’s proposal includes increments, a lump sum payment, and a retention bonus, stressing that teachers deserve fair compensation and that negotiations will continue in good faith.
