The Ministry of Health has launched an urgent investigation after 300 vials of Fentanyl Injection were reported as unaccounted for. The discrepancy was discovered following a delivery to a public health facility, prompting immediate action by the Ministry on August 6, 2025. Fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid, poses significant risks, as even small quantities can be lethal if misused. The Ministry views the incident with utmost seriousness and is collaborating with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Ministry of Homeland Security to address the matter and prevent future occurrences. The public is reminded that unauthorized use or distribution of fentanyl is illegal and extremely dangerous.
