CUBA CARED [3RD FEBRUARY 2026] – The Ministry of Health has clarified that there is no order to remove Cuban doctors from Saint Lucia or to withdraw local students studying medicine in Cuba. Minister for Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs Moses Jn Baptiste says while shifting U.S. foreign policy has created regional uncertainty, the long-standing medical partnership with Cuba remains in place. He added that contingency plans exist to support students and maintain healthcare services if circumstances change, but expressed hope that such measures will not be required. Shyne Savory has the details.
