A hero’s welcome awaited Saint Lucia’s shining star, Julien Alfred, as the sprint sensation touched down at the Hewanorra international airport on Thursday afternoon.
Fresh off her bronze medal performance at the 2025 world athletics championships in Tokyo, Alfred was reflective and somewhat somber after an injury forced her withdrawal from the 200-meter event.
Still, the Saint Lucian ambassador’s spirits quickly lifted as she beamed with joy at the unwavering support from her countrymen, regardless of where in the world she competes.
