PM Davis Breaks Down Arbitration Ruling: “GBPA Must Pay Until 2054”
Prime Minister Philip Davis says the Tribunal confirmed that the Grand Bahama Port Authority must make annual payments to the Government and people of The Bahamas for the remainder of the Hawksbill Creek Agreement.
He also revealed that GBPA sought $1 billion from the Government and argued it should control major government functions in Freeport — including immigration, customs, utilities, and land purchases.
