Pollard Blasts PNM Housing Deals

Ian Pollard, addressing a crowd at a Tobago People’s Party (TPP) meeting in Moriah ahead of the upcoming elections, launched a scathing attack on the People’s National Movement (PNM), alleging serious irregularities in housing allocations. Pollard challenged the ruling party’s slogan, suggesting it fosters an elitist environment where those outside the party fold are treated as « lesser mortals ».
The focus of Pollard’s address was the Blenheim Housing Development, where he claimed unfair practices favor party affiliates over deserving Tobagonians. He alleged that a massive property, described as a « monstrosity, » was constructed for a PNM financier who is not of Tobago descent and whose name does not appear in the official system.
In a further revelation, Pollard accused a PNM executive of illegally occupying a home within the same development. He stated that the individual broke into the property, changed the locks, and has resided there for over seven years without paying a single cent in rent. These accusations were presented as evidence of self-interest within the PNM leadership, contrasting with their public messaging.
