Match Day 20 action in the TT Premier Football League moved to the Ato Boldon Stadium on Saturday for the marquee clash of the round. It was Club Sando FC versus Prison Service FC in Couva. Wayne Cunningham has the highlights.

Club Sando FC sat in second place going into their Match Day 20 encounter at the Home of Football, the Ato Boldon Stadium in Balmain, Couva, and were aiming to keep pace with leaders Defence Force.

Their opponents on the day were Prison Service FC, who are enjoying their best season to date in the TT Premier Football League and occupied fourth spot—just one place outside a highly desired Concacaf post-season berth.

Some refer to Club Sando’s Elton John as a veteran due to his longevity, but he belied that tag with the first attempt on goal of the game. Prison Service goalkeeper Jabari Grey had to pull off a big save to deny the bicycle kick.

The attackers would soon reward Grey for that effort with a flowing move started by Kevon Williams. The ball eventually fell to Brendon Figuera, who drove it low and hard into the bottom corner to give Prison Service the 1–0 lead.

They would take that advantage into the half-time break.

Prison Service had the Club Sando defence on the ropes for much of the second half.

And when the Southerners did manage to get a look at goal, Grey was there again to turn them away.

Prison Service FC kept their hopes of post-season football alive with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Club Sando FC.
