PSA Moves To Secure 10% Increase For Transferred RHA Workers

The Public Services Association (PSA) is today assuring Regional Health Authority workers who transferred from the Public Service that it is working to bring them into the 10% wage agreement signed with the Chief Personnel Officer.
A release from PSA President Felisha Thomas seeks to distinguish between the different categories of RHA staff, noting that there are three groupings.
Public officers who are still employed by the Ministry of Health, public officers who have transferred from the Public Service into the RHAs, and workers who were directly employed by the RHA.
She notes in her release that, by virtue of both the Civil Service Act and the Regional Health Authority Act, the PSA is the recognised majority union.
Ms. Thomas says Ministry of Health workers in RHAs will automatically benefit from the 10% salary increase agreements.
With regard to RHA workers who transferred from the Public Service, the union says they will also benefit from the upgraded salaries and resulting arrears once a memorandum of agreement is signed with the Ministry of Health.
