REGIONAL DIGNITARIES WITNESS HISTORY AS PM PIERRE TAKES SECOND TERM OATH
Ending a 24-year streak of single-term governments, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre was officially sworn in for his second consecutive term at government house. The high-level ceremony was underscored by the presence of regional leaders, including Barbados’ Mia Mottley, Grenada’s Dickson Mitchell and Antigua’s Gaston Browne, highlighting the political significance of Mr. Pierre’s re-election as the first Saint Lucian pm to secure back-to-back victories since 2001.
