For another year, the Republic Bank Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) series will aim to positively impact lives and communities throughout the Caribbean.
The official launch for the 2025–2026 series took place on Thursday at the bank’s Head Office in Port of Spain.
General Manager of Republic Bank, Preston George, spoke at the launch of the ‘Power to Make a Difference’ cycle for the 2025 to 2026 fiscal period, where he emphasised the bank’s community-centred approach to success, stating: « At Republic Bank we believe banking isn’t just the balance sheets and the bottom line profitability. The perimeter of our success is measured by the strength of the communities that we serve. »
Building on the theme ‘Powered by Purpose, Transforming Communities,’ this integrated effort is seeking to upgrade aspects of communities around Trinidad and Tobago.
The bank’s Vice President, Richard Sammy, said the project is looking to improve healthcare, mental wellness, education, and entrepreneurship in the targeted areas.
« During our 2024–2025 PMAD cycle in Trinidad and Tobago, Republic Bank disbursed funding across 66 NGOs and organisations, supporting initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental preservation, youth development, inclusion and entrepreneurship. This outreach formed part of our wider TT$125 million funding for a five-year PMAD investment. »
According to Mr. Sammy, this programme’s reach isn’t only limited to the local landscape but expands to communities within the region, thus creating opportunities for lasting growth.
« We have over 300 partners across the entire region, with a spend of just over US$4.2 million, and as you would’ve seen in the video, we are guided by four pillars, and through these four pillars, we continue to empower individuals and really create opportunities for lasting growth. »
The PMAD programme not only marked a new cycle but also celebrated its 23rd year since conception.
