SCARBOROUGH URBAN COMMUNITY COUNCIL SUMMER CAMP
The Scarborough Urban Community Council has successfully wrapped up its dynamic Summer Camp, held during the July–August vacation. This camp offers young participants a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills for personal and professional growth. This year’s camp was designed to go beyond the traditional fun-and-games approach, focusing instead on practical, future-ready training. Participants engaged in three key areas: life skills development, digital literacy, and electrical installation. The life skills component placed special emphasis on drug awareness and prevention.
Organisers emphasised that the camp went beyond teaching skills, it was about fostering community spirit, nurturing leadership, and inspiring the next generation to dream boldly and pursue their goals with determination. They also expressed their hope to offer this program on Saturdays, providing students with a wider variety of skills and an ongoing opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
