Senator Blasts Pollard for Victimization

Senator Melanie Roberts-Radgman has launched a scathing attack on Mason Hall/Moriah Assemblyman Ian ‘Whitey’ Pollard, accusing the outgoing representative of using his public office to victimize a constituent. Speaking on a People’s National Movement (PNM) platform, the Senator described Pollard’s actions as « vindictive, wicked, and evil. »
Roberts-Radgman alleged that Pollard deliberately « blacklisted » a young man from Mason Hall, blocking him from finalizing the process to secure his home. She vehemently defended the constituent, describing him as a « son of the soil » who had worked hard to build a life for himself. The Senator expressed outrage that Pollard allegedly refused to accommodate the young man and later took to a political platform to label him a « squatter » and expose his personal business to the public.
« It is not my brand of politics to mount any platform and drag any public official, » Roberts-Radgman stated, before declaring that Pollard would not be allowed to use his office to target innocent people. She argued that an elected area representative has a duty to serve all constituents « without fear or favor, » regardless of whether they wear a « blue jersey » or support the PNM.
The Senator went further, suggesting that this was not an isolated incident. She claimed that « plenty people » in the village had shared stories of being mistreated or denied services simply because they were suspected of supporting the PNM. Roberts-Radgman framed the issue as a failure of leadership, contrasting Pollard’s alleged divisiveness with the expectation that an official should serve every single person they were elected to represent.
