OECS SOLAR [25TH MARCH 2026] – As rising oil prices and increasingly severe hurricanes place pressure on critical services, the OECS is advancing efforts to strengthen energy resilience across the region. Through a US$3 million project in partnership with Direct Relief, solar technology is being introduced to support healthcare infrastructure, with Saint Lucia becoming the first member state to complete implementation. Officials say the initiative reflects a broader push to make renewable energy more accessible and sustainable across the Eastern Caribbean. Shyne Savory has the details.
