Political Leader of the Tobago People’s Party (TPP), Farley Augustine, has announced groundbreaking developments for the community of Lanse Fourmi, asserting that the area is no longer « behind God’s back. » Speaking on the campaign trail ahead of the January 12th THA election, the Chief Secretary highlighted the stark contrast between his previous term in opposition and the current progress achieved under the TPP administration.
Augustine revealed that a new road is currently under construction in Lanse Fourmi, designed to open up farmlands for a pioneering project. He declared that this infrastructure will pave the way for Tobago’s « very first organic farming community » situated in the foothills of the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. He emphasized that such projects were only possible because of the change in government, noting that previous attempts to get things done through letter-writing had gone unanswered.
In addition to agricultural development, the TPP leader pointed to the resumption of work at the expanded « Blue Food » ground. He announced that the contractor has been remobilized to complete the facility, which is set to house a modern learning resource center by next year. Augustine detailed plans for « smart classrooms » aimed at upskilling residents from Lanse Fourmi, Bloody Bay, and Parlatuvier. His stated goal is to ensure that young people in the « most extreme part of Tobago » have access to the same high-quality education as the rest of the island.
