The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) has once again demonstrated the benefits of Tobago to the world market.
TTAL showcased the island at the World Travel Market in London, leaving an unforgettable impression on over forty-five thousand global travel professionals.
According to THA Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, Councillor Tashia Grace Burris, this is her fourth year attending the event, and the UK market continues to be in love with Tobago. She explained that their foreign partners are excited about the list of activities Tobago has to offer from a cultural and heritage perspective.
« Next year is a huge milestone because the UK traveller really is into ecotourism, dive, anything with nature, anything to do with sustainability. So next year we are celebrating our 250th anniversary of the Declaration of the Main Ridge Forest Reserve that exists on 116 square miles of untouched, unspoilt, undiscovered Tobago. »
General Manager at Blue Waters Inn and President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, Reginald MacLean, emphasised Tobago’s long-standing commitment to environmental preservation. He said its natural environment, along with Tobago’s world-class scuba diving landscape, ensures Tobago remains one of the most authentic Caribbean destinations.
« Tobago will always have interest with foreigners coming in, all the tourists coming in. We are one of the islands that are lucky that many, many years ago we took the Tobago and put, took the rainforest and protected it in the middle of the island and that remains natural for our lives. That in itself is a big draw to get people into the island and that interest is still here at World Travel Market. »
