Trinidad and Tobago’s manufacturing sector has been described as a source of pride for the region and a powerful tool for building global relationships.
Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism Satyakama Maharaj said the country’s manufacturing standards are recognised internationally and stand as proof of its ability to compete at the highest level.
« Today, our manufacturing standards are the pride of Latin America and the Caribbean and pride of the developing world. We’re not starting from a low level. We’re starting with high-quality products across all the sectors. »
Angostura’s Chairman, Gary Hunt, highlighted that the company’s global reach is not only commercial but symbolic. He said exports serve as a vehicle for Trinidad and Tobago’s identity abroad, reinforcing its reputation for craftsmanship and excellence while strengthening ties with international partners.
Minister Maharaj and Mr. Hunt said Trinidad and Tobago’s reputation for premium manufacturing is central to its global ambitions, positioning the country not just as a producer but as a brand recognised worldwide.
