Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Limited is categorically refuting a recent media report claiming the company spent more than $400,000 on a January 2026 executive retreat in Tobago.

In a media statement, TSTT said that prior to publication, a reporter from a local media house contacted the company referencing alleged invoices related to the event.

The company said it requested copies of the documents to verify their authenticity and accuracy, but the request was denied.

According to TSTT, the story was subsequently published without giving the company the opportunity to review the documents or provide a full response.

Following an internal review, TSTT said it found the reported amounts were inflated by approximately 60 percent. The matter has since been referred to the company’s attorneys for review and possible legal action.

TSTT also clarified that the retreat was a working session focused on strategic planning, leadership alignment, meetings with the Tobago House of Assembly, and public engagements, rather than a recreational trip.

The company maintained that it remains committed to responsible financial management.
