Trinidad and Tobago maintained their unbeaten record in the Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament on Wednesday with a 43–20 win over St. Lucia.
T&T, the defending champions in the Girls’ Under-16 tournament, handed the Junior Blue Bells their first defeat of this year’s edition in what was a rematch of last year’s final at the University of the West Indies Sport and Physical Education Centre in St. Augustine.
The result keeps T&T in first position with eight points, two ahead of second-placed St. Lucia.
The Calypso Girls continue to be the highest-scoring side in the tournament thus far, registering over 100 goals, 47 of them scored by starting goalshoot Curlene Lara.
Up next for the Calypso Girls is a meeting against Antigua and Barbuda.
