T&T Set For Strong Finish At 53rd Carifta Games

Trinidad and Tobago is heading for an impressive medal haul at the 53rd Carifta Games which is nearing completion at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St Georges Grenada.
Of the many impressive performances those of the Vincent Twin Tyrique and Tenique is the story of the games.
Tyrique defended his Carifta Game Boys Decathlon title and he did it in style with a new games record. Vincent lit up the arena in the multi discipline event with an overall points total of 6,824. He placed first in the 100 meters, Long Jump, 110 meter hurdles and discus which helped to put him ahead of Jaquan Souden of Jamaica who amassed 6,760 points. Team TTO’s Kaleb Campbell also made the nation proud with his 3rd place finish on 6,598 points.
Up to news time Tenique, was leading the pack with one discipline remaining in the Girls Heptathlon, the 800 meters. Her team mate Kaori Robley is in second.
