Water Park & Racing Track Planned
Speaking on the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) platform in Buccoo, Nicketa Percy has unveiled a comprehensive master plan to transform the Friendship Estate into a major sports and recreational hub. The proposed development features a water park designed to boost year-round tourism for families and residents, alongside a « drag and drifting » racing facility aimed at establishing Tobago as a competitive destination for international motor sports.
Percy detailed a strategy to move beyond casual leisure by developing a fixed annual sports event calendar and forging partnerships with airlines and hotels to create complete travel packages. He emphasized that this infrastructure is intended to drive revenue directly to locals, creating consistent opportunities for taxi operators, food service providers, and merchandisers. The plan positions sports tourism as a strategic tool to provide sustainable employment and career paths for the island’s youth.
Ahead of the January 12 polls, Percy urged the Buccoo gathering to secure these developments by voting for the « Anchor » and supporting candidate Keon Denoon.
