1st robot-assisted spinal surgery performed in Canada

In a Canadian first, doctors in London, Ont. have performed a robot-assisted direct lateral spine surgery on a patient. Dave Meyn, the man who underwent this robot-assisted direct lateral spine surgery, didn't think much about being the first patient in Canada. He was just looking for relief from the pain caused by sciatica. After visiting his family doctor, chiropractors and massage therapists, Meyn ended up at the London Health Sciences Centre for the procedure with the Mazor X Spinal Robot.
