Arkansas educators address LEARNS Act concerns at Little Rock Rotary discussion

The Arkansas Secretary of Education and local educators sat down today at the Little Rock Rotary to discuss the LEARNS Act and questions circulating its implementation. Among many topics, the panel discussed volunteer hour requirements, teacher pay increases, literacy requirements, and answering the criticism that taxpayer dollars are being taken from public schools. In the law, it states that high school students starting with 9th graders in the 2023-24 school year have to have 75 community service hours to graduate.
