Arkansas Fire Chief rescues Pitbull from fire, family adopts her after miraculous recovery

Many view America's first responders as real-life heroes. But, to first responders, they're just doing their job; just like Doni Hovick, Fire Chief and Marshal for the Fairfield Bay Fire Department did on Dec. 19, 2023. Hovick was the incident commander of three separate fire departments tasked with extinguishing a remote house fire off Highway 110. Hovick said upon the firefighters' arrival, the house had been burning for some time, to the point that it was practically burnt to the ground. While there was nobody trapped inside the house, there was someone trapped in their metallic-plastic kennel — less than 10 feet away: Star, a one-year-old Pitbull.
