Key focus on sustainable poultry production

Sustainable poultry production in Barbados and the Caribbean has been identified as key, towards the attainment of CARICOM's 25% by 2025 goal. It seeks to reduce the region's food import bill. Assistant Secretary-General for Trade and Economic Integration at the CARICOM Secretariat, Joseph Cox says the poultry industry shows immense promise as a catalyst for sustainable agriculture. He was addressing the opening of the Caribbean Poultry Association's 7th International Technical Symposium and Exhibition, being held in Trinidad and Tobago. Focusing on the agricultural sector in the region, Mr. Cox says it faces a myriad of challenges.
