Nation Update:Job push for those with disabilities

At least 33 per cent of the country’s unemployed citizens are people with disabilities, and 2 000, of the 6 000 citizens in the Welfare Department’s National Assistance of Welfare programme are classified as people with disabilities. This is according to director of the National Disabilities Unit (NDU), John Hollingsworth, who attributed much of this as a cause of employer’s attitudes towards the capabilities of disabled people. Hollingsworth made those remarks on Wednesday during the Health & Wellness Fair held at the NDU Complex, Maxwelton, Lower Collymore Rock, St Michael.(Video by Reco Moore)
