NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on other Ukraine allies on Friday to follow Germany’s example to increase their aid to the Eastern European nation. Speaking alongside Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a visit to Berlin, Stoltenberg said Germany was “the biggest European contributor of military aid to Ukraine." He added, "You just decided to send a third Patriot system to Ukraine and I strongly believe that other allies should follow the example of Germany." Stoltenberg’s remarks coincided with reports that Russia is targeting Ukrainian rail lines with airstrikes to disrupt the delivery of desperately needed U.S. weapons to the front and complicate military logistics, according to a Kyiv intelligence source. The United States approved a $61-billion aid package for Ukraine this week and said the first deliveries should arrive in a matter of days, easing acute shortages of artillery shells that have hamstrung Kyiv's forces for months.
