NSW Government confirms it will delay Eraring closure

The New South Wales government has confirmed it will delay the closure of the Origin Eraring power plant. The deal means Australia's largest coal fired plant, which was due to close next August, will remain open until 2027 and possibly 2029. As part of the deal the state government will pay Origin up to $450 million over two years if it runs at a loss.
