As many families gathered on the USC campus to take graduation photos, one mother found herself trying to stop vandalism. Renee was waiting in line to take a photo in front of the university’s iconic Tommy Trojan statue when a woman wearing a mask spray painted the words “say no to genocide” on it. The mother said she does support freedom of expression, but this act of vandalism took things too far. The nearly 100-year old statue was power washed on Sunday and a guard rail was set up around it on Monday.
