Toronto police said on Monday that the body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered after several hours of search and rescue in the water at Ashbridges Bay Park — not too far from where he was last seen going into the water. According to police, crews were called to the area just before 6 p.m. Sunday about a missing person in the water. A good samaritan had jumped into the water to try and rescue the boy, but search and rescue teams eventually found the teen’s body at around 9 a.m. Monday. “While we are still investigating what exactly happened, this serves as a strong reminder of the importance of water safety particularly as we enter the summer months,” Insp. Dusan Pravica said. Global’s Catherine McDonald has the details.
