‘Unpredictable and protracted’ environmental approvals are hindering international investment

Shadow Environment Minister Jonathon Duniam discusses Opposition leader Peter Dutton’s push to reduce environmental approval time frames for resource projects. “Tanya Plibersek two years ago said that we would have environmental laws bought in under this government that would be better for the environment and better for business, and neither have eventuated,” he told Sky News Australia. “International companies that we want to invest here, that we want to create jobs here, are choosing from their boardrooms wherever they might be to invest in other countries because our approvals process is so unpredictable and protracted.”
