The 2026/2027 budget debate concluded Friday night with Prime Minister Philip J. PIerre’s rebuttal. He rejected the opposition’s criticism of the latest Citizenship by Investment unit audit. He held up the grant Thornton report and read from it directly. Mr Pierre said the opposition had misread the document, explaining that the auditors grant Thornton examined the financial statements only, issuing a clean opinion on those numbers. The prime minister said the auditors do not verify the narrative report.
