Colombian prison director killed: Elmer Fernandez shot in the head in Bogota

The new director of one of Colombia's biggest prisons has been shot dead, weeks after he and his family received death threats. Elmer Fernandez was heading home in Bogota when gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle and shot him in the head. The former police colonel had implemented new policies to clean up Colombia's jails, where powerful criminal gangs operate. Al Jazeera's Alessandro Rampietti reports.
